Job Title: Team Lead (Purification - GMP)

Shift/Schedule: M T W Th 9P-8A

Purpose statement:

The Team Lead (Purifications - GMP) provides guidance and direction for the department by ensuring that workflow is prioritized and that processes are being followed according to protocol.  This position acts as a resource to personnel and as a liaison between management and staff. 

Job Specific Essential Functions:

  • Assists with supervising and directing staff which would include employee hiring, training, evaluations and discipline.

  • Organizes and prioritizes workflow within the group and communicates with staff to ensure that all products are completed, according to customer requirements, and sent to shipping department in a timely manner. 

  • Performs all responsibilities of a Scientist I and II.

  • Collaborates with other critical operational departments to ensure product completion, according to customer specifications.

  • Interprets QC results and follows up when failures warrant further investigation.

  • Troubleshoots instrument problems encountered and submits/tracks work orders when necessary.

  • Troubleshoots and corrects problems that may arise throughout the process.

  • Uses aids and SOPs to make decisions about the proper production path per product.

  • Keeps all work instructions and logs current pertaining to processes, and initiates the creation of additional documents when necessary.

  • Communicates group needs to management regarding potential quality, speed or cost improvements

  • Demonstrates and upholds behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and delivers the Integrated DNA Technologies experience to customers and other business associates.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Specific Essential Functions:

  • Assists management in setting goals for the group.

  • Participates in customer and regulatory audits, as well as investigations when required.

  • Adheres to all departmental protocols, rules, and safety regulations and understands the requirements of ISO 9001, ISO 13485 and ISO 14001

Education:

  • Associate's (2 year) degree or comparable combination of education and experience required.

  • Bachelor's (4 year) degree preferred.  Science related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Successful completion of Scientist II course requirements preferred.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficiency with Word, PowerPoint, Excel, PowerPivot, JMP, or other statistical analysis software preferred.

  • Working knowledge of the activities that occur in a GMP facility preferred.

  • Prior HPLC experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Exert 20-50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10-15 lbs. of force frequently
