For our Cell Culture Media Operations group in the newly created Cell Line, Media and Testing Solutions unit, we are looking for a Senior Scientist Raw Materials for Cell Culture Media (m f d) based in Ulm (Sartorius Stedim Cellca GmbH) with the flexibility of mobile working. In this role you will be responsible for selecting and supporting qualifications of new raw materials and analytics for products intended for bioprocesses.
What you will accomplish together with us
Apply your expert chemical know-how to assess raw materials and guide characterization for cell culture media and buffers using a variety of analytical techniques (e.g. mass spectrometry, FT-IR, Raman spectroscopy)
Own and maintain raw material specifications
Lead scientific initiatives for supporting novel methods in analytics and performance assessment of raw materials
Cooperate with external and internal partners and guide the work of cross-functional teams
Coordinate selection and recommend new raw materials for media development and manufacturing sites
Represent Sartorius Operations as subject matter expert at Product Development and Customers meetings
Collaborate successfully in a dynamic intercultural and cross-disciplinary team
What will convince us
Ph.D. in analytical chemistry, chemistry, biotechnology or related field
Several years of relevant experience in media development or raw materials
Profound experience in spectroscopic methods and raw material analysis
Familiarity with relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH, GMP), know how of mammalian biochemistry and metabolism is a plus
Preferably strong publication record and/or industry network in the relevant field
Self-motivated and goal-oriented. Ability to think in new ways and work in a dynamic environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; German would be an asset
