Sales and Marketing Assistant My client, are an independently owned, fast-growing, global supplier of commodity products to a wide range of industries. They specialise in the sales, marketing, and distribution of raw material products to a wide range of industries, primarily across the European region with a growth plan to extend further sales in Middle East, Africa, Americas and ultimately in Asia.The role will suit someone who is looking for a career in sales and marketing, perhaps a graduate with strong communication skills and confident using marketing tools and social media. Key Role ResponsibilitiesThis role will directly support the International Sales team on several aspects of Sales and Marketing. Specific responsibilities will include:Providing wide ranging administration support to the Sales team.Being the first point of contact for any general sales calls and queries, directing them to the appropriate person as required.Providing support to the Global Sales Director and Regional Sales Managers when they areaway from the office (taking calls, checking emails etc).Undertaking market research to identify sales opportunities and create sales leads.Updating social media platforms and the company website with news feeds. Also developing and creating new content in line with the overall Sales strategy and plan.Working closely with the operational and procurement teams to respond to any internalqueries and ensure an accurate flow of information between all teams.Keeping the Global Sales Director updated on all Sales, Marketing and Public Relations activity on a regular basis and escalating any issues or concerns as needed. Offering potential solutions for resolution which balance the needs of the customer and the company.At the appropriate time, this role will also have the opportunity to create and own individual sales accounts. Having responsibility for owning and achieving sales targets (volumes and margins) for the relevant key accounts. Specifically:Implementing and delivering an annual sales plan for the relevant accounts.Building effective sales and account management processes.Establishing, maintaining, and expanding the customer base within the relevant accounts.Proactively building effective and enduring customer partnerships within the relevantaccounts.Visiting customers on a regular basis to ensure all targets and objectives are met.Producing an accurate and deliverable monthly sales forecast for the relevant accounts.Key StakeholdersGlobal Sales Director.Sales team.Global Finance Director, Global Operations Director and Global Commercial Director and theirbroader teams.External customers.Professional external networks.Budget/P&L ResponsibilitiesThere is no budget or P&L responsibilities for this role currently.Line management responsibilitiesThis role will have no line management responsibilities but may require leading of and/orparticipation in project teams.Skills and ExperienceEssential:Self-motivated and able to use own initiative.A desire to understand the market and learn/develop within the role.Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.Strong relationship management skills.Strong communication and influencing skills.Able to balance competing requirements and deadlines, often in a fast-paced environment.Great team player.UK based but willing to travel within Europe.Full clean driving license and access to a car.Desirable:Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.Fluency in another language would be desirable.Randstad Business Support acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
