An RN Assistant Director ICU is needed at one of the DMV's most renowned Level 1 Trauma Centers

The 450-bed Medical Center is recognized nationally for the quality of care and is in the midst of a large capital improvement project, including building a brand-new hospital. The Assistant Director ICU will direct the clinical, administrative services, activities, and patient delivery related to nursing care provision at this hospital's Trauma ICU, Surgical ICU(SICU), and Medical ICU (MICU). The position will have oversight of over 50 beds and 50 FTES.

The ICU Assistant Nurse Director will run the operational management and strategic planning of their units. This position is significant, and the scope and expectations of Intensivists and the CNO are high. The hospital is in the midst  Quality and PI initiatives and expanding of service lines. The Nurse Assistant Director must be ready to be part of this change and capable of hitting the ground running.

The ICU RN Assistant  Director will have at least five years of ICU experience. This hospital prefers an experienced Nurse Leader. CCRN experience and an MSN degree are preferred but not required. The Assistant Director of Critical Care will play a large role in the clinical education of staff to ensure competencies are maintained and staff recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation. This position will report to a highly supportive and experienced Divisional Nurse Director of Critical Care and work with a cohort of Critical Care ICU Nurse Managers.
