Job Title: Purchasing Manager
We are looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager, who is ideally from an electronics manufacturing background and has a good understanding and experience of purchasing electronic components and manufacturing materials.
Responsible for all planning and supplier scheduling activities, to deliver the materials for manufacturing; whilst maintaining expected inventory levels.
Material Planning & Purchasing: ensuring on-time delivery of all items as required to satisfy internal and external customer demand. This includes the identification of stock requirements, placing and scheduling of purchase orders.
Material Inventory management: Analyse, monitor and manage inventory levels. Set target level and develop plans to reach and maintain them without affecting the manufacturing plan. Work with suppliers to facilitate pull forwards or delivery deferments / cancellations as required.
Supplier Management: holding regular reviews with key suppliers, managing the open supplier order book, providing demand forecasts to the supply base and measuring and managing supplier performance.
ERP: maintain the data within the ERP system to ensure accurate lead times, safety stock levels, MOQ, EBQ, planning parameters etc. Run MRP as required to ensure an effective supply chain.
Management of the materials team: manage the team responsible for material inventory, stock transactions, stock takes, inventory movements and goods receiving. Manage faulty or incorrect parts including supplier liaison.
Contract Manufacturers: to manage all aspects of contract manufacturers, order placement, delivery schedule, contract manufacturer performance on quality and on time delivery, work to resolve issues, ensure competitive pricing
Continuous Improvement: the pursuit and implementation of supplier lead time and cost reduction initiatives. These will be identified and progressed with the agreement of the Operations Director, with targets agreed and opportunities identified on an ongoing basis to improve operational performance.
Supplier Negotiations: working with the Purchasing Manager to ensure the supplier choice for each part is on supplier performance, cost, delivery and service levels.
Supplier Compliance: ensure the supplier meets all the business compliance requirements
Inter department roles: working alongside all departments, ensuring that accurate and timely information on inventory is available.
QUALIFICATIONS
Good Educational background and qualifications
CIPS qualification
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3 years experience in supply chain management
Worked within the electronics industry
Working with a modern ERP system
