An exciting opportunity has become available within a precision engineering manufacturer for an experienced and confident Production Manager. Your role will be to manage, coordinate and improve the day to day production activities across a dynamic business.
We are looking for someone who can motivate and drive a well-established team and be able to work under pressure and work to tight deadlines and targets to ensure the end customers needs are constantly and consistently met.
Raise work orders.
Manage and develop procedures to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency.
Monitoring Load vs Capacity.
Update stock asset and shortage reports.
Develop and maintain measures of performance linked to relevant KPIs.
Identify and priorities urgent/critical customer orders.
Work in conjunction with Team Leaders to establish an effective and achievable Schedule Production Plan.
Forecast monthly shipments/past dues.
Maintain manufacturing order priority comments, Customer Critical list and progress urgent requirements.
Work with process engineers to improve quality and efficiency.
Ensure that transactional (MRP) disciplines are maintained.
Maintain effective working relationships with shift leaders to allow effective team and group working in problem solving and process development.
To liaise with staff at all levels of the business effectively communicating work flow and priorities.
To motivate staff and lead by example demonstrating best practise at all times.
Ensure that the work carried out is completed to a very high standard, meeting customer expectations at all times.
Be aware, responsible and adhere to the budgetary controls within the department.
Manage the efficient flow of work through the department to ensure delivery targets are achieved.
Manage others as illustrated on the organisation chart.
Assist other office staff when required (annual leave, sickness).
Achieve KPI s.
Qualifications & Skills needed:
An engineering qualification or 5 years plus experience within a Precision Engineering environment.
Production planning experience (Good understanding of production planning).
MRP experience or similar.
Lean manufacturing knowledge / Problem solving / Technical Process experience.
Excellent attention to detail / Methodical and organised.
Previous experience as a Manager within engineering Manufacturing is essential
