6/9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Summary of Role

To effectively manage staff and functions of the production department, managing the team and resources to produce a high quality product for global supply in line with demand and planning. Implement LEAN thinking and introduce new and more efficient ways to increase production. Manage an experienced team of Team Leaders and Production staff, with the support of the plant managerial, operations and administration team. Be an integral part of the managers team and be actively involved in the strategic, as well as operational direction of the facility.

Productivity, discipline, pace, cost, compliance and H&S are critical accountable success factors in the role.



Identify issues impeding productive efficiency and solve or report as soon as possible
Work closely with the Production Planner to ensure timely delivery of labour and materials
Taking a lead role in continuously improving production processes and productivity
Meeting production deadlines and high quality standards and at all times
Keep the workplace tidy and organised
Manage consumables ensuring issues are controlled and wastage avoided
To achieve maximum productivity, quality and efficiency by making necessary decisions and liaising with appropriate stakeholders
To instigate and lead improvements in factory continuously for best manufacturing practice and competitive pricing
Ensure LEAN compliance and continued improvement to processes and job times
Line Management / Supervision:

Management of Production Leads and other employees to ensure pace and quality standards are met
Ensure the workforce is appropriately skilled and are regularly reviewed for skill, effort and attitude. Where there is an issue, coach and mentor the individual.
Effectively manage overtime and ensure standards are met in line with regular working hours
Playing a key part in the strategic direction of the plant
Department budget management
Recruitment, training and development of the production team
Monitor KPI s and take corrective action as appropriate to ensure adherence to schedule, productivity and quality standards
Demand service from all support areas of the business - i.e. Development, Logistics, IT, HR and Manufacturing and Quality & Engineering etc
