Job Description

We are looking for someone with enthusiasm for Communications Planning and Media Strategy to join our growing Alcon global team.

Alcon is an exciting client, working to upend category convention with award-worthy work around the world. They have transformed their marketing organization with Starcom helping to cocreate new methods of consumer communication and marketing ideas. No two days are the same when working with this growing team and innovative client. There are always new challenges to tackle as we collaborate with marketing teams and specialists around the world.

Daily projects range from creating strategic partnerships with media owners, to leading an interagency team to develop innovative new campaigns, to collaborating with our local teams across the world on exciting campaign executions.

The Global Manager is a key role within the Alcon global team with lots of opportunity to make a strategic impact in the direction the business and client strategy moves. It is a high profile, client facing role that actively leads program development and marketing initiatives for the Alcon franchises around the world, offering great career development and skillset growth. You will be empowered to lead discussions and work that drives cross-functional marketing strategy for the Alcon brands on a daily basis.

You would be responsible for both developing programme strategies and managing cohesive project workstreams across both agency and client stakeholder team.

1. Specific responsibilities are:

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with key clients
  • Be able to identity client challenges and equally be able to ask the right questions to understand the true needs for the client s business
  • Collaborate with directors and specialists to deliver outstanding work every time
  • Lead high quality day-to-day output, be a subject matter expert in your field
  • Drive accountable output in your work and support operational excellence across the team.

2. You will have the chance to be a major contributor in shaping the culture of the Alcon team:

  • Deliver and lead by example, driving brilliant client service for your work and the work of your direct reports or contributors
  • Be proactive and results orientated in day-to-day client management
  • Able to provide relevant and insightful commentary details and key take-outs for relevant data sets (search data, consumer profiling etc)
  • Work collaboratively with both Alcon s Interagency Teams and Publicis Media Practice teams to deliver high quality, timely responses
  • Support Alcon account strategic imperatives and collaborate with more senior team members on ways to contribute to the agency success
  • Embrace and get involved with agency initiatives and growth opportunities
  • Coach and nurture more junior members of the team and wider agency when relevant


Skills & Experience require

  • Outgoing positive nature, who is confident, energetic and curious
  • 3+ years of media planning or buying experience
  • Experience developing communications planning projects (preferably that includes planning of integrated communications across paid, owned, and earned media)
  • Be a critical thinker
  • Have a contributing voice and at times be a leader of an integrated agency team
  • Have very tight project management skills including driving accuracy, organization and collaboration from our team
