As one of several Finance Managers/Business Partners you will be working both independently and collectively in wonderfully collaborative environment. You will have clear guidelines on what needs to be achieved however you will be given the freedom to carve out the best way in which to achieve them. You will support the central team in developing, delivering and managing comprehensive financial management for the schools within the trust.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of detailed budgets in accordance with relevant guidance
  • Preparation of statements and financial records for internal and external Audits
  • Provide technical finance advice to both finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • Review and develop financial reporting, statutory returns, fixed asset systems, budget setting and long-term planning reporting
  • These will be in addition to standard key duties of the Finance Manager
  • A very hands-on position so will require someone with great technical and commercial experience
  • The confidence and work ethic of a true team player.

A great opportunity for someone looking to move trusts to gain a wide remit and expand on their current skills or looking to make a change from working in education albeit HE or FE. May consider someone from a not for profit, housing or local authority with Multi site understanding.

Essential requirements

  • Must be fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, CCAB)
  • Has proven knowledge of current reporting guidelines
  • Can communicate to both finance and non-finance decision makers as you are dealing with head teachers, governors, finance, board etc
  • demonstrate they have successfully dealt with challenging situations
  • Be a team player
  • The ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment
