Hydrocarbon Post Processing Lead
The ideal candidate will have an analytical and a production environment-based background with attention to detail and an eye for precision and consistency across the entire production process. Previous Extraction or Cannabis concentrate production experience is highly encouraged for this role.
The Hydrocarbon Post Processing Lead reporting to the Director of Extraction is responsible for overseeing the completion of all final production steps (post extraction) of Hydrocarbon extracted product types for Canapa Valley Farms Processing. This position is a highly important pillar interacting directly influencing the quality and consistency of the mainstay concentrate products. This position is technically demanding and requires multi-faceted scientific discipline understanding and aptitudes as well as strict adherence to specific standard operating procedures. Additionally, requirements include understanding and competency of sample collection methodologies as well as Good Manufacturing Practices. Must be a motivated and consistent team-minded individual with a passion for precision.
Coordinate directly with the Director of Extraction and Hydrocarbon Extraction Technician(s) to effectively plan and execute post-production of all hydrocarbon extracted products for CVF-P.
Utilize, Follow, and Develop specific Standard Operating Procedures, successfully to complete production of the following but not limited to products: Live Resin, Diamonds and Sauce, High Terpene Extract, Shatter, Badder, Activated Cartridge Oil, Caviar.
Responsible to oversee and initiate the sampling process and procedures for compliance and safety testing of extracts to and via 3rd party licensed laboratories.
Train, assist and direct the Lab Technicians in the execution of all daily operating tasks.
Maintain safety and occupational operating code throughout the post-processing lab space and work areas.
Track, Data Collect, Log, and Summarize complete product metrics throughout the production process from newly extracted crude to final format.
Deploy R&D efforts to derive and develop new production efficiencies, tactics, and overall production improvements for optimal product quality and timelines.
Implement Space management of multiple types of products throughout the equipment effectively to maximize throughput and quality.
Analyze and summarize concentrate product COA's and relay key takeaways and recommendations thereof.
Enter and confirm final production run and yield totals and proportions to the Director of Extraction.
Coordinate and report completed production run totals and data with METRC administrator.
Troubleshoot and conduct routine maintenance on all production equipment.
Set specific facility task lists for lab technicians to ensure facility organization, storage of supplies, disposal of waste according to guidelines, and keeping laboratory space and working areas immaculate.
Advancing education in learning, testing, trialing new methods, and/or meeting prospective equipment suppliers/vendors when advantageous.
Maintain inventory record of supplies, materials, and equipment, and prepare requisitions as needed
$60000 - $65000 USD per year
Familiarity with basic scientific principles and production terminology
Fluency and understanding of Cannabis Concentrate Types - previous Cannabis Industry of Concentrate Production Experience High Preferred.
Ability to read, follow, comprehend, and create Standard Operating Procedures.
Math and Data entry skilled
Understanding and adhering to applicable state and local laws, and regulations, as they pertain to safety and all applicable operating codes within the facility.

Must successfully pass a background check.
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelors preferred.
Preferred- Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related Chemistry field experience.
Previous experience in cannabis is preferred but is not required.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a comparable manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, equipment operation, and maintenance.
Proficient math and computer skills, including MS Word and Excel
Ability to operate various types of equipment and machinery
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. repeatedly and up to 80 lbs. on occasion
