Our local authority client has a 3-month contract vacancy (with the possibility of extension) for the role of a DISTRICT HEATING PROJECT MANAGER, details as follows
Job Purpose
Project Manager to complete the delivery of a major district heating project. The project is now in the closing stages, with the Project Manager focussing on optimisation of the system and resolving outstanding defects prior to handover to operations.
Responsibilities
Closing out all the defects identified before the D&B contract finishes in July 2022.
Complete other outstanding actions from the D&B contract
Overseeing the work of the Design & Build contractors.
Overseeing the technical advisor / employer's agent.
Overseeing the work of other contractors involved with the project.
Chairing project meetings and updating the project programme.
Finalising and delivering a network optimisation programme, and working with all relevant parties to achieve the milestones identified.
Working closely with the council's Housing department to resolve any issues with council housing blocks connected to the network.
Ensuring third party connections to the network carry out works required. Essential Requirements
Must have good knowledge of district heating.
Professional qualification in project management.
Project management experience, including experience of delivering complex capital projects, preferably in the public sector.
Experience of contract management, including JCT contracts, preferably in the public sector.
Knowledge of engineering schemes, energy efficiency and district heating.
