We are working in partnership with Community Works to recruit an inspirational and dedicated Chief Executive to manage the organisation and enable it to fulfil its charitable objectives. Community Works delivers a wide range of services for people of ages ranging from work with young people, to groups and services for adults and support services for older people.
Based in North Yorkshire in the beautiful market town of Thirsk. The purpose of the Chief Executive is to manage and build a high performing and motivated staff team, generate income, ensure project and service plans are successfully implemented, measure the impact of the charity s work whilst managing external stakeholders, and, confidentially representing the charity in a diversity of settings.
This coveted position involves line management of two Senior Managers and a number of other staff relating to specific projects. You will also have financial accountability for c£1m annual income generation and management.
This is a highly varied role which requires experience and skills in the following areas:
Strategic & operational leadership - Building & maintaining a close and effective working relationship with the Board, providing accurate and appropriate reports. Developing and agreeing the 3-year strategic plan and to report to the Board on progress. Managing the charity effectively ensuring good charity governance, statutory compliance, risk management and efficient use of resources.
Operational Leadership - Effectively & efficiently manage Community Works; developing & delivering the annual corporate work plans in support of the strategic plan with maximum impact for local community and its beneficiaries. Leading, managing, developing & supporting the Senior Management Team.
Finance & Operations - Working with the finance & administration functions to prepare accurate and timely budgets and financial forecasts and ensure the efficient management of Community Work s assets and resources.
New Business Development - Leading on new business development and writing funding proposals for Community Works to secure a pipeline of new projects & services that will ensure the financial viability of the charity. Developing partnerships to work together on large projects and secure national funding to deliver local services.
Project & Service Delivery - An important part of this role is to develop, deliver and improve detailed project and service plans; you will be highly skilled at processing large volumes of information and forming a clear stance on key issues.
The successful Chief Executive will be a strategic leader, yet an individual who doesn t mind getting hands on with operational delivery when needed. You will have an innovative, agile, and entrepreneurial approach to developing the charity. Salary £48- £52K plus benefits package which includes 5% contrib. pension, 28 days holiday + one day for every full year worked up to 5 years & cycle to work scheme
