A leading global service-based scientific service provider to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and academic sectors is currently looking for Animal Technicians in Margate with a Higher Education in Science or a Graduate of Biology/Bioscience.About the Company

  • To assist in the day-to-day welfare and maintenance of animal colonies within a barrier production area
  • To include, colony management, husbandry, and animal order processing (will also include occasional weekend and Bank Holiday work on a rota system)
  • Demonstrate strict compliance with bio-security, Home Office, AAALAC, and Production processes/guidelines
  • Identifying and initiating own training/retraining where required

Required Skills:

  • 3 GCSE at level C or equivalent - entry level
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate clearly with other members of the team
  • Good personal organisation
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Numeracy
  • Commitment to excellence
  • Ability to work under strict hygiene conditions
  • Must have own means of transport

Desirable Skills:

  • Good understanding of Home Office and accreditation body (e.g., AAALAC) guidelines
  • Home Office personal licence training Modules A&B, or Home Office Personal Licence previously held
  • Education to degree level in Science or equivalent
